The WHO Global Tuberculosis Report 2024 provides a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic and of progress in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, at global, regional and country levels. It highlights that TB remains the world’s deadliest infectious disease, with 10.8 million people falling ill and 1.25 million deaths in 2023 alone. While global efforts have made progress, much work remains to meet the #EndTB goals.

To commemorate World AIDS Day and Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week/Day, our partners at CAAN and Results Canada are hosting a roundtable discussion with Canadian civil society on 'Sustaining Progress Against HIV, TB and Malaria: Combining the Power of Communities and Innovation’.

To help shed light on global progress in our response to HIV, Francoise Vanni and Scott Boule from The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria will join the discussion.

A Rapid Communication released by the WHO in August finally enables children, younger adolescents, pregnant women and persons, and other populations to benefit from newer, shorter treatment regimens for drug-resistant tuberculosis. But the 1/4/6x24 Campaign warns that these regimens will remain out of reach due to high prices.

Join Treatment Action Group (TAG) for the next community training on drug-resistant TB. On Thursday, December 12, Dr. Jennifer Furin will provide a deep dive on DR-TB treatment and care for children, pregnant women, and other special populations. The webinar is designed to provide updates for communities and civil society on the latest standards of DR-TB care for children and adolescents, pregnant women, and people who are incarcerated, on the move, and/or that have comorbid conditions such as HIV and hepatitis C.
