Sign-on Letter: UN High-Level Meeting on TB Follow Up

The United Nations High-Level Meeting (HLM) on TB in September was an opportunity for global leaders like Canada to reaffirm their commitments to ending the world’s deadliest infectious disease by 2030. Instead, Canada’s engagement left civil society and affected community members disappointed. In addition to a lack of Ministerial presence and the exclusion of TB-affected communities, Canada’s commitment to ending TB domestically fell short of expectations.

Canada did however support the UN HLM political declaration on TB, which includes a series of global commitments to accelerate efforts to end TB.

We call on our network to sign onto this letter to ensure Canada upholds the commitments in the political declaration.
