WEBINAR: Bridging Tuberculosis & Antimicrobial Resistance through Advocacy

This September, the United Nations will hold the second High-Level Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). This is a crucial moment for global health policy, especially concerning action against tuberculosis (TB). Despite TB accounting for a significant proportion of AMR-related deaths and drug resistance being a major driver of the TB burden, TB is often overlooked in the broader AMR agenda.

It is clear that no effort to end TB will be successful without a robust AMR response and no AMR response will be complete without ending TB.

Last Chance: Survey on Access to TB Medicines in Canada

Stop TB Canada is conducting a survey to gather information, stories, and experiences of people affected by TB and their families on barriers to accessing essential TB medicines in Canada.

This includes delays in accessing rifapentine and components of multidrug-resistant TB regimens that are not approved by Health Canada or marketed in Canada and are only available through temporary access programs, and the lack of access to paediatric TB formulations in Canada. Results of the survey will be used to support Stop TB Canada's advocacy for greater access to essential TB medicines in Canada.

You can access the survey in English and French. Please print out the poster with QR code and display in your clinic if you work with people affected by TB.

Nunavut tuberculosis clinic concludes in Naujaat with nearly 900 people screened

A screening clinic for tuberculosis in Naujaat has come to an end, Nunavut's Health department says. The clinic first launched in April, after a TB outbreak was declared in the community of about 1,200. Read more.
