Support the Global Fund's Eighth Replenishment

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is the world’s largest multilateral funder of TB programs, responsible for 76% of all international TB financing.

Ahead of the Global Fund’s Eighth Replenishment this year, Stop TB Canada and partners are calling on the Government of Canada to continue its leadership in global health by making a strong and ambitious pledge. A fully funded Global Fund could save 23 million lives, prevent 400 million infections, and bring us closer to the goal of ending TB by 2030.

TB remains the world’s leading infectious disease, but Canada, with a long history of championing global health, can play a vital role in ending it. Now is the time to recommit and #WinTheFight against the world’s deadliest epidemics.

Health Canada reviewing rifapentine drug submission

Health Canada is now reviewing a New Drug Submission (NDS) for rifapentine 150 mg tablets, a key medicine for shorter TB preventive treatment. Sponsored by Macleods Pharmaceuticals, the filing was accepted in March 2025 and follows extensive collaboration between Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Unitaid, Indigenous Services Canada, and other partners. A decision is expected within the standard 300-day review period, pending any data gaps.
