Results Canada National Call

Results Canada’s March National call will focus on tuberculosis in children, as well as how to use digital advocacy to effect change.

Stop TB Canada steering committee member, Dr. Mahli Brindamour, will be the guest speaker. Dr. Brindamour will share her knowledge of pediatric TB and explain the critical need to invest in research and development to improve the tools available to address TB in children.

The National Call will also feature a workshop on digital advocacy and social media, led by Results Canada’s Communications Manager, Denise MacDonald.

The 2024 TB Conference is your opportunity to explore recent global and local epidemiology, efforts to prevent, and ultimately eliminate TB, advances in diagnostics and treatment regimens, proposed changes to the way we approach isolation practices, and – after treatment has concluded, the longer-term implications of tuberculosis which we are beginning to better understand.

The conference agenda reconfirms the important contributions made by all professional sectors working in tuberculosis and the essential partnership of TB patients, their families, and survivors with public health programs, academic research settings, and treatment settings.

A Different Kind of Gap: An early look at country proposals to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and implications for the fight against TB.

Emphasis on post-TB lung disease and other sequelae of TB is good but a public health approach to TB is morally ambitious

“Long-COVID” has increased interest in post-treatment sequelae of communicable diseases, including TB. This interest is not new but recent exponential growth in publications, particularly from low and middle-income countries, remind us of the significant and tragic after effects of TB disease.
