Will Canada step up in support of the Global Fund?

Stop TB Canada and our coalition of civil society organizations from across the country have been calling for Canada to step up in support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s Seventh Replenishment with a CAD$1.2 Billion commitment. The International AIDS Conference happening in Montreal this weekend is an opportune moment for Canada to announce its commitment to the Global Fund and we are ready to be loud in our response. Stop TB Canada and our partners will be at the International AIDS Conference in Montreal from July 29 - August 2 and we would love to see you there! See the different sessions that we are participating in below. These sessions are open to the public.

Stop TB Canada Global Village Booth: Stop TB Canada will have a booth in the Global Village where we will be sharing the work of the network, educating conference attendees about TB, and equipping them to take action to help end HIV/AIDS and TB.

Launch of the 1/4/6 x 24 campaign

Scientific advances over the last 20 years have finally made it possible to treat TB infection in as little as one month and most forms of drug-sensitive and drug-resistant TB in four and six months, respectively. Yet virtually no one has access to these shorter regimens.

The 1 / 4 / 6 x 24 campaign is about claiming the right of people with TB to enjoy the benefits of scientific progress, which is a precondition for realizing the right to health.

TAG, PIH, and MSF invite you to the launch of a campaign inspired by the legacy of Paul Farmer calling for the “staff, stuff, space, systems, and support” necessary for shorter TB treatment regimens to be made accessible to all who need them as a human right by the end of 2024.
